Prime Time Schedule for August 21 - 25, 2017

Each weeknight, we'll air programs focusing on a different theme.

Monday, August 21 – Congressional History
• We look at the 1790 congressional debate on slavery as well as the legacy of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and his influence on contemporary partisan politics.

Tuesday, August 22 – Women's History
• Talks on women in the White House and the life of African American poet Phillis Wheatley.

Wednesday, August 23 - Salem Witch Trials
• From a Salem Witch Trials conference hosted by Salem State University in Massachusetts, we hear an overview of the witch trials, about efforts to document the history through primary sources, and how the witch trials continue to impact the town of Salem 325 years later.

Thursday, August 24 - The Presidency
• From American History TV's weekly series "The Presidency," a discussion on the lead-up to John F. Kennedy's 1960 presidential campaign as well as a look behind the scenes into Richard Nixon's White House with Jo Haldeman, wife of Nixon chief of staff H.R. Haldeman.

Friday, August 25 - C-SPAN Cities Tour at State Capitols 
• Visits to 17 state capitol buildings, including Virginia, Texas, California, Wisconsin and New York.
