This week we'll showcase our Lectures in History weekly series which takes viewers into college classrooms around the country. Each night starting at 8pm ET, we'll focus on a different theme.

Monday August 20: Conspiracies
Indiana University Bloomington professor Stephen Andrews teaches a class about conspiracy culture in American history. He describes how conspiracy theories have changed over time, and often include the involvement of groups such as the Illuminati, Freemasons, and Skull and Bones. This class was a seminar for high school teachers hosted by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City.

Tuesday August 21: Andrew Jackson
Arizona State University professor Jonathan Barth talks about the rise of Andrew Jackson and his presidency. He focuses on Jackson's clashes with Whig party members Henry Clay and Daniel Webster in the "bank wars" of the 1830s.  Immediately following the class, at about 9pm ET, Professor Barth will join us LIVE to take viewer calls & tweets and respond to Facebook posts.

Wednesday August 22: Reconstruction
Brandeis University professor Abigail Cooper lectures on African Americans during the Reconstruction era, looking at how former slaves strove for economic rights and full citizenship, including the right to vote.

Thursday August 23: Vietnam War
Arizona State University professor Kyle Longley discusses President Lyndon Johnson and the Vietnam War in 1968, and the reasons behind his decision in March of that year not to seek re-election.

Friday August 24: Civil Rights
University of Delaware professor Tiffany Gill examines the role of African American women in the Civil Rights Movement. She describes how beauty parlors, while often overlooked, functioned as a safe place for women to organize sit-ins, voter registration drives, and boycotts.
