LIVE 8am - 10pm ET: D-Day 75th Anniversary
This Memorial Day, American History TV & the Washington Journal simulcast a live viewer call-in program to mark the 75th anniversary of the World War II invasion of Normandy, France, which took place June 6, 1944. That day, 160,000 Allied troops attacked along a 50-mile stretch of coastline defended by German forces. Despite suffering more than 9,000 casualties, by day's end the Allies had gained a foothold on French soil. Our guests talk about their D-Day books and answer viewer questions:

8am ET - Alex Kershaw, author of "The First Wave: The D-Day Warriors Who Led The Way to Victory in WWII." He joins us LIVE from the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia.

9:15am ET - Mary Louise Roberts, author of "D-Day Through French Eyes: Normandy 1944." She describes the invasion's impact and its aftermath on the French.

10am ET: Reel America: "Normandy, the Airborne Invasion of Fortress Europe" - 1944
Produced by the U.S. Army Air Forces, this film details the planning, training, combat operations, and after-battle summaries of the airborne forces who dropped into Normandy, France on June 6, 1944.
