Eugene Bullard - Black American Expatriate & French War Hero
Eugene Bullard grew up in Georgia, but -- dissatisfied with the prospects for African Americans in the Jim Crow South -- stowed away on a freighter for Europe and eventually settled in Paris. Mr. Bullard - a boxer, musician, and nightclub owner - served France as an infantry machine gunner, fighter pilot, and spy in World Wars I & II. He earned 14 French war decorations, including the nation's highest - Knight of the Legion of Honor. University of Georgia professor John Morrow recounts Mr. Bullard's story in a conversation hosted by the National World War II Museum.

The Civil War: Role of Animals
During the Civil War, animals served in a variety of roles, from transporting supplies to acting as regimental mascots. The National Museum of Civil War Medicine hosted this program with Brad Stone, who talks about General Lee's hen, Jeff Davis the marching pig, goats on boats, and Doug the camel.

Sojourner Truth's Life & Legacy
University of Mary Washington history professor Claudine Ferrell discusses the life and legacy of Sojourner Truth, an enslaved woman who self-emancipated in 1826 and spoke out on abolition and women's rights. This video is from the university's "Great Lives" lecture series.

The Presidency: Franklin & Eleanor Roosevelt Partnership
Paul Sparrow looks at the personal and political partnership between Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt that captivated the nation and transformed how the federal government interacted with the American public. Mr. Sparrow -- director of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park, New York -- shares Roosevelt home movies that give a behind-the-scenes look at the couple in this program hosted by the National Archives Foundation.
