Description

Born in 1946 in New Haven, Connecticut, George W. Bush grew up in Midland Texas, where his father (who is also the nation's 41st president) worked in the oil industry. Bush received degrees from Yale and Harvard before moving back to Texas to work in the oil business. In 2000, Bush was elected President of the United States. His two terms in office were marked mainly by the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 and the war in the Middle East that followed. He left office in 2009 at the completion of his second term.
