King Charles III formally opened Parliament, announcing the government’s agenda and priorities for the coming months. This was the first King’s Speech in more than 70 years since it was delivered by Charles' grandfather, King George VI, in 1951. King Charles previously gave the Queen’s Speech on behalf of his mother, Elizabeth, in May 2022 when he was a prince.
