Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announces new Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions against 271 employees of Syria's scientific studies and research centers, who have worked in support of the chemical weapons' program since 2012. The sanctions are a direct result of the April 4 chemical attack by the Syrian regime on its own people. Scores died in the attack, including many children.
