The Kerner Report

Harvard University professor Elizabeth Hinton talked about the Kerner Report and the government’s response to poverty and crime in the 1960s. President Lyndon Johnson established the National Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders, headed by Illinois Governor Otto Kerner, following a series of urban riots in 1967. The report was published in 1968.
