Video Clip: Democratic Response to President Trump's National Address on Border Security

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) responded to President Trump’s first national address. The president spoke to the nation from the Oval Office on border security and immigration policy, and called on lawmakers to pass legislation reopening the government from a partial shutdown and giving $5.7 billion to build a barrier on the U.S.-Mexico border. The two Democratic leaders called on President Trump and congressional Republicans to reopen the government and save the border security debate for later in the year.
