In response to protests and violence in Venezuela starting earlier that day, National Security Adviser John Bolton spoke about his support for opposition leader and disputed interim president, Juan Guaidó. He also voiced his support for the Venezuelan people's efforts to "regain their freedom" from the Maduro government.
