On October 11, 1988, AIDS activists occupied the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, to protest for improved treatment and care. Peter Staley of ACT UP and Ann Northrop of Gay USA discussed the causes and planning on the 30th anniversary of the protest.

Description

On October 11, 1988, AIDS activists from ACT UP occupied the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, to protest for improved treatment and care. As a result, the FDA changed their clinical trial protocols, which lead to faster access to new medications. Two AIDS activists discussed the causes and impacts of this protest on the 30th anniversary of the protest.
