Senate Passes $1.9 Trillion COVID-19 Relief Bill, 50-49
House Session - October 4, 1988

The House disagreed to the Senate amendment to H.R. 4352, to amend the Stewart B. McKinney Homeless Assistance Act to extend programs providing urgently needed assistance for the homeless. The House passed H.R. 4758, amended, to amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to increase the level of benefits payable with respect to the death of public safety officers and to provide that nondependent parents may be beneficiaries. The House passed H.R. 5199, amended, to make non mailable any plant, fruit, vegetable, or other matter, the movement of which as interstate commerce has been prohibited or restricted by the Secretary of Agriculture in order to prevent the dissemination of dangerous plant diseases or pests. The House passed H.R. 2800, to improve Environmental Protection Agency data collection and dissemination regarding reduction of toxic chemical emissions across all media, and to assist states in providing information and technical assistance about waste reduction.
