Senate Passes Foreign Aid Package 79-18
House Session - August 1, 1989

The House passed H.R. 2705 which guarantees federal employees a health benefit program. H.R. 2991 was passed authorizing appropriations for the Commerce, State, and Justice Departments as recommended by committee. Also, H.R. 1391 was passed, exempting from antitrust laws certain activities by broadcasters aimed at reducing the amount of violence in telecast material. The House agreed to H.R. 3024, to increase the statutory limit on the public debt.
