House Approves $1.2 Trillion Spending Bill
House Session - November 17, 1989

The House passed numerous bills, including S. 974, the Nevada Wilderness Protection Act; H.R. 3402, the Support For East European Democracy (Seed) Act; S. 737, the Rocky Mountain Land Acquisition Act; H.R. 2748, the Intelligence Authorization Act for fiscal year 1990; H.R. 3670, authorizing funds for expansion of membership of Superior Court Of the District of Columbia; H.R. 972, which increases authority of the attorney general to settle claims resulting from law enforcement activities of the Department of Justice; H.R. 3671, the Federal Aviation Act of 1958 amendments extending the Civil Penalty Assessment Demonstration Act; H.R. 3593, the Hurricane Hugo Emergency Relief Act; H.R. 435, to amend the Appalachian Regional Development Act of 1965 to include Columbiana County, Ohio, as part of the Appalachian region. Members also approved several suspension bills. Members also passed by voice vote H.R. 3660, to amend the Government Ethics Reform Act of 1978
