House Rules Committee Considers National Security Supplemental Legislation
House Session - March 20, 1990

The House passed H.R. 4167 to provide for a short-term extension of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Rep. Clay (D-MD) moved to suspend the rules and pass the bill to amend the act to provide that the education secretary and two additioanal individuals from private life should be members of the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Rep. Lehman(D-CA) moved to pass the bill to provide for the striking of medals to commemorate the bicentennial of the U.S. Coast Guard. Rep. Lehman also moved to pass the bill for the striking of medals in commemoration of the Centennial of Yosemite National Park. Rep. Vento (D-MN) moved to pass the bill to amend the National Trails System Act to designate the route from Selma to Montgomery for study for potential addition to the national trails system.
