House Passes Bill For Humanitarian Assistance at Southern Border, 230-195
House Session - January 29, 1991

The House passed H.R. 556, to provide for the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to obtain independent scientific review of the available scientific evidence regarding associations between diseases and exposure to dioxin and other chemical compounds in herbicides. The House passed H.R. 555, to amend the Soldiers' and Sailors' Civil Relief Act of 1940 to improve and clarify the protections provided by that Act; and to clarify veterans' re-employment rights of health insurance.
