United States House of Representatives approved the Journal of Monday, June 17, 1991. Representative-elect John Olver (D-MA) presented himself and was administered the Oath of Office by the Speaker. The House passed H.R. 2622, making appropriations for the Treasury Department, the United States Postal Service, the Executive Office of the President, and certain Independent Agencies, for FY 92. The Obey (D-WI) amendment regarding the inspection of tax returns was agreed to, as were seven Roybal (D-CA) amendments. The Roybal amendment that added $475,423,000 for motor vehicles, and the Roybal amendment that added $324,000 for the care and maintenance of the House of the Vice President, were agreed to. The five other Roybal amendments, concerning various expenditures necessary for repairs and salaries, were also agreed to with a point of order sustained against similar provisions. The Wolf (R-VA) amendment regarding work and family programs was agreed to.
