House Session - June 26, 1991

The House passed H.R. 2699, making appropriations for the government of the District of Columbia and other activities chargeable in whole or in part against other activities chargeable in whole or in part against the revenues of said District for FY92. The Rohrabacher (R-CA) amendment to reduce Federal payments to the District of Columbia by $19.2 million dollars was rejected. The House passed H.R. 2707, making appropriations for the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and related agencies, for FY92. The Penny (D-MN) amendment that increases the Head Start appropriations by $12 million and reduces the appropriations for Health and Human Services general department management by $20 million and funding for the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health by $2 million, was agreed to. The Walker (R-PA) amendment to reduce each amount appropriated or made available by 5.9 percent was rejected. The House passed H.R. 2698, making appropriations for Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies for FY92.
