Senate Passes Foreign Aid Package 79-18
House Session - October 28, 1993

The House Session began with one minute speeches. Members spoke for one minute on topics of their choice. The House then took up House Resolution HR 287, short term Government Spending Bill. This bill extended the spending authority of the Federal Government until November 10. A later vote on this resolution was Y, 252, N 170. The Resolution was agreed to. A vote later in the session on H J Res 283 was also agreed to, Y 255, N 157 House Members then took up HR 334. This bill provides that all federal laws & regulations applicable to Indians also apply to the 40.000 members of the Lumbee Tribe. This was not agreed to with the vote being Y, 178, N 238. the House concluded the evening session with Special Orders.
