The U.S. House of Representatives convened to take up 14 bills under a procedure known as Suspension of the Rules. This is a time saving mechanism by which non-controversial measures bypass the normal committee process and are brought directly to the House floor. Some of today’s suspension include international fishing, preservation and conservation agreements, veterans' disability benefits and youth drug abuse and crime prevention programs.
