The U.S. House of Representatives met and continued debate on an assault weapons ban. Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection bill passed by a yea-and-nay vote of 216 yeas to 214 nays. The House also voted on the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Bill which forbade persons from blocking access to clinics particularly those where abortions are performed. Following the completion of the day’s legislative business, the House adjourned until the following Monday.
