Members debated a bill, H.R. 1833, to ban a certain type of abortion procedure. Representative Schroeder attempted to keep certain visual aids out of the debate. Her objection was defeated by 332 to 86 votes. The House passed the measure with no exceptions for the life of the mother by a 288 to 139 vote. After the vote, the House began debate on Washington, DC appropriations.
