Speaker Pelosi Statement on Agreement on January 6 Commission
House Session - February 24, 2021

The House began work on two bills. The first would add LGBTQ anti-discrimination protections to the Civil Rights Act. The second would increase protected wilderness and scenic river areas in California, Oregon, and Washington state. The bill would also permanently ban new oil and mining claims on federal land around the Grand Canyon. Members also voted on two suspension bills debated the previous day: the Effective Assistance of Counsel in the Digital Era Act and the Puerto Rico Recovery Accuracy in Disclosures Act of 2021.
