The House Will Convene At 12:00 PM Today
House Session - March 3, 2021

The House passed H.R. 1, the For the People Act, which makes changes to campaign finance, voting, and ethics laws. Lawmakers also passed a police reform bill, the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, which bans chokeholds and "no knock" warrants, and makes lynching a federal crime. Members were scheduled to be in session the next day but decided to finish their work that day in response to warnings from the Capitol Police of unspecified threats from militia groups, including protests and demonstration activities surrounding the Capitol over the upcoming three days.
