The House approved the Senate-passed COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act, which addresses the rise in hate crimes against Asian Americans, and members also considered several other suspension bills. Lawmakers then passed the rule governing two bills to be debated later in the week. The rule also allows through May 20 for the House to vote en bloc in one vote on suspension bills debated earlier in the week. This provision is in response to House Freedom Caucus members continuing to call for recorded votes on all bills.
