The House approved another gun violence measure. The bill would enact a federal “red flag” law, allowing courts to keep guns away from people who may endanger themselves or others. The measure goes along with a Democratic bill that passed the previous day. Both are intended to reduce gun violence in response to a recent spate of mass shootings. Both bills would next go to the Senate, where a bipartisan group of senators were negotiating their own set of gun measures.
