The Senate agreed to S. Res. 151, to express the sense of the Senate on the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court declaring unconstitutional the Texas statute prohibiting the desecration of the flag. The Senate continued consideration of S. 5, to provide for a federal program for the improvement of child care. The Senate agreed to the conference report on H.R. 1722, to amend the Natural Gas Policy Act of 1978 to eliminate wellhead price and nonprice controls on the first sale of natural gas.
