House Rules Committee Considers National Security Supplemental Legislation
Senate Session - February 6, 1990

The Senate passed S. 1310, to eliminate illiteracy by the year 2000, and to strengthen and coordinate literacy programs. The Senate passed S. 169, to amend the National Science and Technology Policy, Organization, and Priorities Act of 1976. A unanimous consent agreement was reached providing that the majority leader, after consultation with the Republican Leader, may at any time proceed to the consideration of S. 2073, to authorize certain United States assistance and trade benefits for Panama and certain assistance to support the transition to democracy in Eastern Europe.
