Senate Session - September 14, 1990

The Senate passed S. 3033 to allow free mailing privileges to members of the Armed Forces while engaged in temporary military operations under arduous circumstances. The Senate closed further debate on S. 1224, to amend the Motor Vehicle Information and Cost Savings Act. A unanimous-consent agreement was reached providing for further consideration of the bill and a cloture vote was requested The Senate resumed consideration of H.R. 5311, making appropriations for the District of Columbia. A unanimous-consent agreement was reached providing for further consideration of the amendments to H.R. 5311. The Senate disagreed to the House amendments to S. 2830, the Food, Agriculture, Conservation, and Trade Act of 1990. A unanimous-consent agreement was reached providing for the consideration of S. 1511, to amend the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 to clarify the protections given to older individuals in regard to employee benefit plans. The Senate considered certain treaties between various nations.
