Fiscal 94 Budget Resolution, SEN. Frank Murkowski, R-Alaska, introduced an amendment to reduce revenues that are assumed to be raised by the B.T.U tax. The projected amount was 4.5 million dollars over a five year span.
SEN. Don Nickles, R-Oklahoma, in support of this amendment. SEN. Jim Sasser, D-Tennessee, argued that the amendment attempts to “tinker” with a proposed tax in a matter that clearly should be the subject of a Finance Committee Markup.
