In this session, the Senate took up the Conference Report on the School Aid Bill. This bill will provide about twelve and on half billion to student programs. Included are funding for economically disadvantaged students, technology in schools, retraining of workers and violence prevention programs. The Senate moved on to nomination of Ricki Tigert of Tennessee.
He is the nominee to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
