Senate Passes Foreign Aid Package 79-18
Senate Session - February 6, 1999

The Senate continued the impeachment trial of President Bill Clinton with presentations by House managers of witness depositions. The proceedings began with a moment of silence for Scott Bates, the Senate clerk who had recently died in an accident. House managers then presented videotaped testimony of Monica Lewinsky, Vernon Jordan, and excerpts of President Clinton’s previous testimony.
