The Senate reconvened in a special weekend session. Members continued debate on amendments, including a proposal from Senator Lincoln (D-AR) on limiting executive compensation for health insurance companies, and Senator Ensign’s (R-NV) amendment regarding attorney fees.
Later, both amendments failed to pass. The amendment on attorney fees submitted by Senator Ensign (R-NV) failed by a vote of 32 - 66. Amendments require at least 60 votes to pass. Senate Majority Leader Reid (D-NV) also announced that an abortion amendment will be taken up tomorrow.
