The Senate voted 49-51 against beginning debate on H.J. Res. 36, a disapproval resolution to repeal an Obama administration Bureau of Land Management rule requiring oil and gas producers to limit the amount of methane gas released on federal lands. Republican Senators Susan Collins (ME), Lindsey Graham (SC), and John McCain (AZ) voted no with all Democrats.

Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called for a special prosecutor to investigate ties between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.
