During debate on an immigration bill, the Senate rejected four amendments. One would have provided a path to citizenship for undocumented migrants who arrived in the U.S. as children, also referred to as “DREAMEers.” The measure also included $25 billion for border security funding. Senators also defeated the White House-backed proposal by Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley (R-IA).
