Senate Session - April 18, 2018

The Senate unanimously passed a resolution brought up by Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) that allows senators, including Senator Duckworth, to bring their newborn infants to the chamber floor during votes. Members also confirmed Carlos Muniz to be general counsel for the Department of Education and continued work on the nomination of Representative Jim Bridenstine (R-OK) to be NASA administrator. The chamber failed to advance a bill that would authorize Coast Guard programs through 2019 but did pass a disproval resolution to repeal a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) rule dealing with automobile financing.
