Senate Session - December 21, 2018

The Senate convened for a legislative session as the deadline loomed for passing a bill to avoid a partial government shutdown at midnight over President Trump’s demand for funds to build a U.S.-Mexico border wall. Vice President Mike Pence for the 13th time broke a tie in the chamber, voting in favor of a motion to proceed to a bill to fund the government. The final vote was 48-47. No other votes were taken.
