Senate Session - January 10, 2019

On day 20 of a partial government shutdown, senators unanimously passed legislation providing back pay for federal workers affected by the shutdown. In an effort to force a vote on legislation to reopen the government, Democrats for the second in the week blocked a bill that would extend military assistance to Israel, put new sanctions on Syria, and urge state and local governments to oppose economic boycotts of Israel.
