The Senate approved several executive nominations, including Aurelia Skipwith to be director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service; John Sullivan, ambassador to Russia; and Stephen Hahn, Food and Drug Administration commissioner. Lawmakers also approved a resolution recognizing as genocide the mass killing of an estimated 1.5 million Armenians by the Ottoman Empire.
