Senate Passes Foreign Aid Package 79-18
Senate Session - March 23, 2020

The Senate for a second time fell short of the 60 votes needed to advance consideration of a “phase three” economic stimulus package to address the coronavirus pandemic. Throughout the day’s proceedings, tensions between Republican and Democratic senators were evident as members interrupted each other, and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) objected several times to majority members asking for recognition, including Senator Collins (R-ME).
