The Senate confirmed Edward Meyers to be a judge for a 15-year term on the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, which hears monetary claims against the U.S. government. Members also confirmed the nominations of Andrea Lucas and Keith Sonderling to be members of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). A number of senators came to the floor to talk about the Supreme Court vacancy resulting from the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
