With Vice President Kamala Harris presiding over the final 53-47 vote, the Senate confirmed Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's nomination to the Supreme Court, making her the 116th justice and the first Black woman to serve on the nation's highest court. All 50 Democrats and three Republicans, Senators Susan Collins (ME), Lisa Murkowski (AK), and Mitt Romney, voted in favor of her confirmation. Members also passed two pieces of legislation in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. One bill suspends normal trade relations with Russia and Belarus. The other bans oil imports and other energy products from Russia. Both votes were 100-0.
