Senate Passes Foreign Aid Package 79-18

The Senate voted to proceed with a bill that would provide grants for U.S. computer chip production in response to an industry-wide shortage that had disrupted the manufacturing of automobiles and electronics. Members also confirmed three nominations: Nina Wang, U.S. district court judge for Colorado; Nancy Maldonado, U.S. district judge for the Northern District of Illinois; and J. Michelle Childs, U.S. Court of Appeals judge for the District of Columbia Circuit.
