House Approves Rule for Foreign Aid Bills, 316-94
Senate Session - March 1, 2023

The Senate approved the House-passed resolution to repeal a Labor Department rule allowing retirement plan managers to consider environmental, social, and corporate governance factors (ESG) in their investment decisions. Members also confirmed the nomination of Margaret Guzman to be a U.S. District Court judge for Massachusetts, with Vice President Kamala Harris providing the tiebreaking vote, and they voted to limit debate on three U.S. District Court judicial nominations: Colleen Lawless, Central District of Illinois; Jonathan Grey, Eastern District of Michigan; and James Simmons Jr., Southern District of California. Finally, lawmakers approved by unanimous consent legislation requiring the Director of National Intelligence to declassify information relating to the origin of COVID-19.
