Amendment in the nature of a substitute sought to expand the scope of the investigation to include the efforts of the Carter Administration and the 1980 Carter Presidential Campaign to affect the timing of the release of the hostages held in Iran in 1980, limit the duration of the investigation to six months, and limit expenses of the investigation to $300,000. |
