President Clinton talked about the fight against crime. He said that since 1993 crime rates have dropped to the lowest in a quarter century because of the strategy of a visible police presence on the streets. He mentioned that gun sales have dropped thanks to the Brady Bill. He commented that at gun shows the background checks are often skipped which is a problem that needs addressed. He said that background checks must be done everywhere guns are sold and new legislation is being prepared to require this. close
