President Clinton spoke to a group of news editors about the NATO mission against Serbian forces in Yugoslavia. He characterized the accidental bombing of a civilian convoy in Kosovo as a regrettable but inevitable result of modern warfare. He also outlined his vision of a post-war Kosovo as part of a modern Europe, calling on the Western alliance to first stand up to Serbian aggression and then help rebuild the region like the U.S. did with the Marshall Plan. close
