Mr. Forstater talked about his book The Spiritual Teachings of Marcus Aurelius, published by Harper Collins. He explained Marcus Aurelius’s philosophy, Stoicism, and also described his life. The book is a re-working of a 2,000-year-old work by the Roman Emperor, who reigned from 161 to 180 AD. The work is more commonly known as The Meditations of Marcus Aurelius. Mr. Forstater has updated older translations of the book to make the language more accessible to modern readers. A clip was played from the audio recording of the book with actor Derek Jacoby reading. close
