Experts testified about the guidelines for stem cell research issued by the National Institutes of Health in August. The guidelines specify the limits for research and use of embryo stem cells. Current research is focused on the potential of using these cells to generate a variety of human organs or tissues that could be used for transplants. The second panel said that the guidelines should be revoked because the use of embryo stem cells would be unethical. They talked about their research and advised the use of adult stem cells only. close
