Mr. King talked about his book Brunelleschi’s Dome: How a Renaissance Genius Reinvented Architecture, published by Walker and Co. The book tells the story of Filippo Brunelleschi and how in 1418 he solved one of the most famous engineering puzzles of the Renaissance and introduced new elements of architecture by successfully completing the dome of the cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore. Mr. King’s book also depicts life in Florence in the early 15th century. After the presentation Mr. King answered questions from members of the audience. close
